The Marchand brothers Yves, Jean and Jacques are saddened to announce the death of their father Claude Marchand, the founder of Excavations Marchand & fils.
Claude Marchand passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Arthabaska Hospital on January 3, 2014, at age 88. Mr. Marchand founded EMF with his three sons in Victoriaville in 1974.
Over 12 years at the helm of EMF, Mr. Marchand transformed the company into one of Quebec’s leading general contractors specializing in civil engineering work. He served as president until 1986, at which point he handed over the reins to his three sons, who had all been working at the company since its inception. Mr. Marchand always took an active interest in the company’s activities and projects and remained involved on a daily basis until he was 80.
He was a hard-working and passionate leader who was an ongoing source of inspiration for his children and grand-children, many of whom have worked or are currently working at EMF. Mr. Marchand can be proud of having instilled his values in all his loved ones. His vision and determination will continue to guide the company in the years ahead.
Today, his three sons would like to pay tribute to him and express their gratitude for all that he has accomplished.
Thank you Dad!
Yves, Jean and Jacques
